I want to take a moment to tell you about my JDRF mentor Joy. Your brief descripton does not state what she does. She is a volunteer for JDRF and takes time out of her day to help parents, like myself, who have a type 1 diabetic child or children. She has helped us through the good and bad times. My wife and I have called her at 3 am and she has answered, listening to us. This is the ONLY role she has through JDRF.
She has taken it upon herself to take it further and start support groups for us online and in person and also ships diabetic testing suplies to diabetic children worldwide and she pays for them with her own money. There is nothing this lady will not do or can not do. She sleeps with her cell phone in her hand in case someone needs her. She works outside of her home full time and is a mother of a diabetic child and a wife of one also. She deserves more than this in my opinion. This lady is wonderful and truly a blessing to the world. What a wonderful way for us to show her our appreciation.

Joy sends diabetic testing supplies to families who have no insurance or can not afford them. She sends numerous packages each and every month and wants to use prize to aid in sending more. No one deserves it more in my opinion. Thanks

This is an awesome idea to recognize the good things people are doing in the Fort Wayne area. So many times only the negative things are recognized.
